Alexander Place Promenade Wins SPACE Award

Raleigh, NC -- February, 2005 – Faison’s Carolinas Retail Development department was presented the Triangle Business Journal SPACE award for Top Retail Development, 2004. This annual award recognizes the Triangle area’s most innovative retail project.

Located at I-540 and US 70 in Raleigh, NC, Alexander Place Promenade is a 450,000 square-foot lifestyle shopping center. It is the first development in the Triangle area to successfully integrate Wal-Mart and other large retailers into a mixed-use, pedestrian friendly design that connects adjacent residential town homes and apartments with regional retail.

“We worked closely with the Raleigh Planning Staff and City Council to create a village look along heavily traveled Highway 70. Alexander Place Promenade sets a high benchmark for other Wal-Mart developments in the Triangle Area” said Jensie Teague, Senior Managing Director of Faison. “John Felton, with Cline Design, did an excellent job creating an eclectic mix of shops and boulevards that are not typically found in a Wal-Mart center.”

Faison has also begun construction on Alexander Place Promenade Phase II, a collection of shops, restaurants, and junior anchors.
