Faison and Cousins Properties Team to Develop Project in Metro Nashville
Charlotte, NC -- May 25, 2005 -- James H. Culpepper IV, Executive Vice President of Faison, based in Charlotte, NC, announced today that Faison and Cousins Properties of Atlanta, GA have been selected as the co-developers for a proposed Avenue® project that will anchor a 400-acre master-planned development off Interstate 24 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This development will feature an open-air, pedestrian-friendly center and is a culmination of function and art. Usually located in affluent neighborhoods, shoppers looking for high quality merchandise in a convenient setting are sure to find what they are looking for.
The 400-acre development is located at the soon-to-be-completed Manson Pike interchange on Interstate 24 in Murfreesboro and is owned by C.M. “Bill” Gatton. The master plan for this project includes retail, office, residential and public space. The site is connected by the newly opened Medical Center Parkway with the nearby Murfreesboro Gateway project which includes a new hospital and medical and professional offices.
“Rutherford County is the fastest growing county in Tennessee in terms of population growth and has the highest comparable job growth in the country. This site features its own interchange access from Interstate 24, one of the busiest interstates in the region, along with high visibility and close proximity to the new Highway 840 loop. With the success the City of Murfreesboro has already had with its Gateway project and the change in traffic patterns underway around the site with the opening of the new Medical Center Parkway, the Gatton development will become a dominant draw in one of the fastest growing markets in the country,” stated Mr. Culpepper when asked about the project.
